Jesus Said: I Prepare a Place 4U

Few things are more comforting than looking across a crowded room, trying to find somewhere to sit down, and having someone catch your eye, point to the seat next to them, and say, "I've got a seat saved for you!"  Or perhaps after a long journey you check into your hotel, and the clerk informs you that your room is ready and waiting.  There's such a relief to find yourself in your place, settled in and ready to relax. 

In John 14:6, Jesus, the Son of God, assures all of us, "I have prepared a place for you."  What we long for in restauants or crowded rooms, Jesus assures us we can have forever.  His once-and-for-all death on the cross opened heaven's door by purchasing our forgiveness.  He rose to assure us that He, our living Lord, has cleared the path to heaven for all who believe in Him as their savior from sin.  And in this passage Jesus proclaims to us that their is a place awaiting us, at the eternal family reunion that will be our heavenly home.

A place for you, to share what God meant human life to be, free from sin and filled with unfding joy.  A place where you will see clearly how much God loves you, as you see Him face to face.  A place where you are welcome, and where you will never feel alone or hurt, for all eternity.  Your place, won for you by Jesus, prepared with you in mind, waiting through God's amazing grace.

Jesus, your Savior, has that place prepared for you.  The invitation is given, the place is paid for and Jesus, your host, beckons you to your seat.  When trials come or losses unsettle us, we can fix our mind on that place that stands ready, promised by the lord Himself, and find strenght to keep moving homeward.  May this encouraging hope fill your heart each moment, until you see that place, through God's gracious love in Jesus.
