JESUS FULFILLED THE LAW 4U
"But when the fullness of time came, God sent His Son, by coming from a woman, by coming under the Law, in order to purchase out of slavery those who were under the Law, in order that we might receive adoption." Galatians 4:4-5
As historically it was the fullness of time when God sent his only-begotten Son. Jesus, into this world, so it was just the right for you (4U) that he came. He came into this world to fulfill the Law of God for you. (4U)
It was necessary for him to do that for you because you were not able to do that for yourself. You were expected, by holy God, to be holy just like he is holy. That means that you were obligated to keep the Law of God perfectly, that is, keep all of his commandments in thought, word and deed.
The soul that does not do that is a sinful sinner. And the soul that sins dies. That soul or person dies little by little everyday and, then when his physical body wears out, he dies to this world and forever in hell. Now that is all not-so-pretty news. That is very bad news.
But do not despair, my friend, I have very good news, the Best News, for you. That very good news is that Jesus Christ came, he saw and he conquered sin and eternal death for you. A part of his mission from God to save you from your sin and your eternal death included fulfilling God's Law for you.
More than 2,000 years ago, God decided that it was the right time to send his only-begotten Son into this world. He sent him for you. God caused his Son to be conceived in and to be born of a woman. We call that woman the Virgin Mary.
By becoming a real man, Jesus, the Son of God from eternity, was born under the Law of God. That meant that, just like all of the rest of us humans, he was obligated to keep God's Law. And that is exactly what he did. Jesus, who was conceived and born without sin, never sinned, not even once. He was the perfect spotless Lamb of God.
Jesus fulfilled the Law of God for us in order to purchase for us our freedom from the slavery of sin. We do not to admit it but we sin, we sin and we sin incessantly. As a result, we, all of us, are slaves to sin. Jesus said that, as recorded in We were slaves who could in no way purchase our freedom from that slavery. But that is what Jesus did for us who were under (the condemnation) of the Law.
When he did that the result was that we sinners can be adopted into God's family. By what Jesus did for us during the days of his earthly ministry, he made it possible for everyone, absolutely everyone, to be adopted into Gods' family for now and for ever.
Because of what Jesus did for all who are under the Law, it is possible for us all to call God our Father( even, Dad). We can also call each other sons and daughters of God and to call each other brothers ad sisters of Jesus and each other.
So, the Best News (usually called, the Gospel) is that Jesus did all that was necessary for you, to live and to live forever for and with him. Friend, do not think that that news is too good to be true. Think about what we humans do for each other.
A rich father says to his son or daughter, "Here are the keys. It is all paid for you. I bought this new care for you. It is yours !"
A friends says to you, "Here are two tickets to tonight's big game. I bought them for you. They are yours. Go and enjoy the game !"
A great man says to you, "I knew that you were so deep in debt that you and your family were drowning, so I paid all that you owe for you. Rejoice in your life and your family. You are debt free !"
Of course, all of the above are mere illustrations from this world but they can point you to the greatest experience that a man or woman can have. That greatest experience is knowing that, by the grace of God alone in Jesus alone, that you belong. You belong to God forever. Because of what God in Christ has done for you, you can know that your place with God is secure both in the here and now and hereafter.
P.S. Here is a way to remember where in the Bible you can find this wonderful
Gospel, Best News, passage.
It is G A L: = God gave Life
4: = for
4- = for you
and 5 = so, you are alive.
